Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – The journey begins

Arrive in Nairobi and begin your scenic drive to the Masai Mara. Once you reach Ilora Retreats, settle into your tent, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, and take a bit of time to rest or set up your gear. In the late afternoon, head out for your first safari drive, an easy start to get a feel for the landscapes, light, and wildlife. Return to camp for dinner and a relaxed evening where you can meet the group and chat about the days ahead.

Day 2-6: Safaris in Masai Mara Game Reserve

Each day is fully focused on photography, with morning and evening game drives in private vehicles led by experienced guides. You’ll have time for everything—from waiting at sightings to tracking behavior and trying creative angles. Use breaks to rest, edit, or join optional sessions at the photo lounge. Bird walks around camp and a guided night sky session add depth to the experience.

Each day is fully focused on photography, with morning and evening game drives in private vehicles, with only three guests per car—so you will always have space to shoot comfortably. Each drive is guided by an expert naturalist, ensuring you are always in the right place with the right light. Between drives, rest and review your shots, or join casual editing sessions in the photo lounge. There’s plenty beyond the big sightings too—enjoy peaceful sundowners, stunning Mara sunsets, and the soft light of twilight that photographers love. One night, you can also head up to the sky deck for a guided astro photography session under the stars. It’s six full days of immersion—into wildlife, nature, and your craft.

Day 7: Departure

After a final breakfast, it’s time to pack up and begin your journey back to Nairobi returning with memory cards full of stories.
